Technologies
Seven technologies carry the platform, from the modelled Recommendations to the services that carry the proofs. Every entry links a live artifact, never a brochure.
What you do today
A standard exists as prose. Every tool that touches it, the editor, the test-bench software, the certificate template, re-encodes the standard by hand, and every re-encoding drifts a little from the text.
What changes
The standard is authored once, as data. The page you read, the form you fill, the verdict engine, and the certificate all derive from the same model, so they cannot drift apart. Each technology below is one piece of that chain, and each is open to inspection.
What you can try now
The SMI Simulation site: the simulated measuring instruments the whole programme rehearses on.
Read a SMART Recommendation package as a structured document, in your browser.
Who to talk to
Technical questions go to info@oimlsmart.org or to an issue on the relevant GitHub repository.
The technologies
SMART Recommendations
The OIML Recommendations as structured, executable models: read on the web, consumed by software, provenance down to the clause.
The SMART Twin
A living digital twin of the certified instrument: its compliance state computed from evidence, queryable while it operates.
The SMI Simulation
Simulated measuring instruments with realistic physics: rehearse the full certification workflow without hardware.
CNML
The certificate format: machine-readable, cryptographically signed, verifiable without phoning home.
The identity federation
One account across the platform and its member deployments, federated to member services. The live identity service is the proof.
The trust registry
The public registry of who may sign what: issuing authorities, laboratories, and the keys their certificates ride.
Dataspace & interop
The platform speaks the neighboring standards rather than replacing them: ISO/IEC SMART, ReqIF, RDF/SHACL, W3C Verifiable Credentials, DPP, AAS, OpenCDD, DSP/ODRL.
