The Development Council thanked Mr Seiler and his colleagues for the excellent organization of the Forum: Metrology – Trade facilitator, which had taken place earlier in the day.

The Development Council noted Mr Seiler’s report on the meeting of the Permanent Working Group on Developing Countries (PWGDC), which was held on 24 October 2004, and endorsed the PWGDC’s proposals.

2004Proposals relating to the OIML Development Council
The Development Council, considering that the organization of the OIML’s work on developing countries is being more effectively handled by the PWGDC, proposed to the Committee that: - The tasks allocated to the Development Council by decision of the 6th International Conference of Legal Metrology in 1980 should be transferred to the PWGDC; and - The existing Development Council should cease to exist.

The Development Council expressed its appreciation to Mrs Annabi for her contribution to the OIML’s work on developing countries during her tenure as its Chairperson since 1998. ! – 30 –
