35th CIML Meeting — Minutes (EN, Bulletin)

The Committee unanimously appointed Dr. Sam Chappell, the former CIML First Vice President and US Member as Honorary Member.

The Committee approved the minutes of its $ 3 4^{\mathrm{th}} $ Meeting without modification.

The Committee took note of a list giving the population and the contributory class for each Member State, with an indication of those Member States benefiting from a lower contributory class than that assigned by the population. The Committee took note of the fact that there were no changes in relation to the previous situation and expressed no comment concerning this list.

The Committee approved the Auditor's report for 1999 and requested its President and the BIML Director to submit it to the Eleventh Conference.

The Committee took note of a report from its President concerning the activities of the Presidential Council since the last CIML Meeting.

The Committee took note of a report describing the activities of the Bureau since the last CIML Meeting.

The Committee took note of a report from the BIML describing the situation of certain Technical Committees and Subcommittees. Whilst the Committee noted that there was no need for the TC 5 secretariat to be allocated to a Member State, it did note that TC 13 should not remain without a secretariat. The Committee also accepted that under TC 16/SC 1 the activity on Measuring instruments for vehicle exhaust emissions be pursued by The Netherlands whereas the other three work projects will be the responsibility of the Russian Federation. Finally, the Committee noted that the Russian Federation might be interested in taking over responsibility for TC 8/SC 2, provided that work was limited to the development of a test report format for R 125.

The Committee endorsed the draft agenda and program for the Conference. It noted that Dr. Foster, Director for Innovation Services at the Department of Trade and Industry of the United Kingdom, would act as Conference Chairman and approved the proposal from the CIML President to nominate Mr. Beard (South Africa) and Dr. Pákay (Hungary) as Conference Vice Presidents.

The Committee elected Mr. Faber (The Netherlands) to continue as its President for the next three years.

The Committee appointed Mr. Magana (France) as the future Director of the BIML.

The Committee took note of the decisions made by the Conference and requested its President, the Presidium and the Presidential Council to monitor their implementation and to report about this at the next CIML Meeting.

The Committee decided to hold its $ 36^{\mathrm{th}} $ Meeting in Moscow, Russian Federation, between 22 and 27 September 2001.

The Committee noted that Israel was in a position to confirm its invitation to hold the $ 37^{\mathrm{th}} $ CIML Meeting in 2002 (exact dates to be advised), this decision to be finalized during the $ 36^{\mathrm{th}} $ Meeting in 2001.

The above-mentioned decisions were adopted.
