The scanner/scales‘ remote displays are replaced by the 7360 SelfServ checkout’s LCD
display.

Software:
The software running on the 7360 Touch screen 15“ LCD display with integral PC hardware
is designated NCR SelfServ Checkout.exe. This program is supplied in the form of compiled
executable code only and as such cannot be modified using common software tools.
The software has been segregated such that the metrological aspects of the program which
are concerned with the metrological data have been written into a module designated
POSPriceCalc.dll.
The system generates a checksum over the POSPriceCalc.dll module. The generated
checksum value is compared against a preset value at boot-up. If the checksum is invalid,
any attempted modification or manipulation of the module will cause the application program
to be disabled.
Data is received from the attached scanner/scale via the OPOS driver module designated
NCR78xxScannerScale.dll.
The software version information can be displayed by navigating to System Functions >
About, and is shown as follows for verification:

Where “x” represents changes to the non-legally-relevant software which do not affect the
metrology part of the software
The 7812-5xxx scanner/scale has software version number 497-0xxxxxx and can be dictated by
the device by scanning the following bar codes, found in the user manual: Diagnostic mode >
Hex 4 > Hex A. Calibration and legally relevant parameter changes are only possible after
pressing the calibration pin, located beneath a cover at the front of the scale, underneath the
weigh pan.
The 7877-2xxx / 7877-5xxx, and 7879-2xxx / 7879-5xxx scanner/scales have software number
497-0xxxxxx and can be displayed* by holding ►0◄. Calibration and legally relevant parameter
changes are only possible after pressing the calibration pin, located beneath a cover at the front
of the scale, underneath the weigh pan. Additionally there are three non-resettable event
counters as outlined below that increment each time a parameter is altered. Current event
counters are displayed by pressing and holding ►0◄.

*Note: A single 7825-XXXX NCR scale display will be provided for connecting to the NCR
scanner/scale models, referenced above. The display will be held at the customer site. The
7825-XXXX NCR scale display is required to display audit trail information for firmware version
specifically for the NCR scanner/scale products.
Interfaces
The 7360 SelfServ checkout hardware interfaces are not controlled and have no influence on
metrological characteristics.

Sealing:
The storeLine SCO software must be as described under Software.
The scanner/scales may be sealed via software means in which case the event counters‘
values at verification must be written on a tamper evident label and affixed near the rating plate.
Alternatively, the scanner/scales may be physically sealed by either a tamper evident label or
lead and wire type seal preventing access to the calibration pin described under Software.
