Guide for the application of ISO/IEC 17025 to the assessment of Testing Laboratories involved in legal metrology

This Recommendation applies to "gauge blocks of rectangular section", which are measures of length in the form of rectangular plates or parallelepipedal rectangular blocks comprising two opposing, flat, mutually parallel, faces, called measuring faces, whose surface quality is such that they have the property of wringing to the corresponding faces of other gauges or plane datum surfaces. It lays down the principal technical specifications relating to their intended use, their manufacture, their qualities, their inspection.
